Yesterday was a day where I felt remembered and it wasn't even my birthday. Normally I'd brush off the attention but with the fun that I had, it couldn't go by without being noticed. With the daily grind of work, there's plenty of isolation between my friends and I. It's not like I'm still in school or working in a place where my work friends become my circle of friends. So the Lakers were in town yesterday, and I realized how automatic it was for everyone to know that I'd be in the building. The texts asking where I was sitting started to pour in. I received some 'have fun' texts and some really made my night. Trash talking texts even gave me a smile. There was no better message than the one Brian sent after the Lakers loss to the Hornets:
"Don't feel bad, the spurs lost to the nets [worst team in the NBA]"
I literally laughed out loud. The Lakers-Hornets game wasn't the event that I thought it would be when I first bought the tickets. I imagined myself to be there with someone else and the night to end with a victory for the Lake Show. I understand things happen and plans can change but I'll always wonder how it would have been the way I wanted. Now that my concert/sporting event streak for this part of the year is over, I'd really like to thank
TuVy, BaoNgoc, and Nhung for being great and helping a friend in need and adding new adventures to my resume. You ladies have helped turn something difficult to something worth remembering.
Hahaha. I love that quote. Firstly because it's hilarious, and secondly because I hate the Spurs. Mmm, hate's a strong word... I highly dislike the Spurs. =D
